Top Ways to Succeed as a Chaplain: Balancing Life

“How you manage your personal life is crucial…. The truth of the matter is that there’s another side of life that is much more important.”

Military Ministry, page 177

Church ministry is tough!  Chaplaincy is tougher!!!  As a chaplain you will move often and those around you will move often too.  It can create an atmosphere that can cause stress and anxiety as you try to minister every day in a pluralistic environment.

I suspect that your endorser will have some kind of retreat/conference that you can attend during the year.  I found it very helpful in my own ministry.  Attending the conference for rest and relaxation…and fun was always a good thing.

It is important to balance ministry life with work and fun.  The ministry will come to you.  You must be proactive to balance your life with fun.

I know this from my own life and ministry.  Go out and create and have fun!!!!  Jump in the leaves.  Hit the links for fun, if that is your forte.  Go to the beach.  Go to the mountains.  Walk!  Hike!  Run!!!  Have fun!!!
